In an interview with L'Equipe, Zinedine Zidane spoke highly of Kylian Mbappé, a player he could see himself coaching one day.

On the sidelines of the inauguration of a new pitch at his Z5 in Aix-en-Provence, created in collaboration with Electronic Arts for underprivileged children, Zinedine Zidane spoke to daily L'Equipe about the possibility of one day coaching Kylian Mbappé.

"Of course we want to coach him".

"When you're a coach and there's a player like him, of course you want to coach him. A lot of things can happen. It could happen one day. He's a player who wears the French national team jersey well. In any case, I admire what he's doing. It's beautiful, it's strong," replied Zizou.

All that remains to be seen now is when and where this exciting collaboration will see the light of day. It won't be at PSG next season, as Luis Enrique will be replacing Christophe Galtier. Perhaps at Real Madrid in 2024, if Zidane succeeds Carlo Ancelotti and Les Bleus' captain joins Madrid? Or to the French national team, if ZZ succeeds Didier Deschamps after the 2026 World Cup, or before if Euro 2024 goes badly?
