Saudi club Al-Hilal made the signing of Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves (26) from Wolverhampton official on Friday evening, and took the liberty of trolling Barcelona, long associated with the player.

Long rumored to be in Barcelona's sights, Ruben Neves signed a new contract on Friday with Saudi giants Al-Hilal, who paid 55 million euros for the player until June 2026.

The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder had been with Wolves since 2017, and his agent Jorge Mendes had hoped to place him with Barça this summer, as has often been the case in recent years. But Barça didn't necessarily have the means and, above all, Xavi wasn't a fan.

When Al-Hilal mocks Barça

In its video announcing the transfer of Ruben Neves, Al-Hilal took the liberty of trolling the Catalan club by slipping in "Ruben Neves joins Barcelona" at the start of its video. The Portuguese will wear the number 8 shirt at his new club.
