According to Spanish daily Marca, a key meeting is scheduled for this Friday between PSG and Kylian Mbappé's entourage to make a final decision on his summer mercato.

Kylian Mbappé wants to honor the last year of his contract at PSG, without extending beyond that, while the Parisian club doesn't want to see him leave free in a year's time and intends to sell him by August 31 if he decides not to extend by then. The problem for PSG is that Mbappé is currently under contract until 2024, and nobody can force him to leave this summer if he doesn't want to.

According to Madrid daily Marca, however, the matter could be resolved this Friday, as a summit meeting is scheduled between PSG and the player's entourage, who are currently on vacation, to try and find a solution that pleases everyone. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is expected to attend the meeting, as is Fayza Lamari, the French world champion's mother.

A surprise extension not ruled out

"Depending on what emerges from this meeting, it will be time for Real Madrid to take action if PSG and Mbappé agree to part ways this summer," adds the Madrid daily, which does not rule out any scenario, not even that PSG and Mbappé finally decide to sign a new contract for a further two or three years, with the promise of an exit voucher in a year's time.

Recent history has shown that with Kylian Mbappé, you should never swear by anything, and that anything is possible. In any case, there's no doubt that this Friday's meeting, if confirmed, will have a major impact on this long-running soap opera.
