While Real Madrid made Karim Benzema's departure official on Sunday, the German press is reporting that Chelsea's German striker Kai Havertz is close to signing for the Spanish club.

In the space of 24 hours, Real Madrid have announced the departures of Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema. An attacking revolution therefore awaits the Spanish club, who will have to recruit at least four strikers during the summer mercato.

According to a number of Spanish media reports, Real Madrid will already be snapping up attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz, who has been on loan to AC Milan for the last three years, as well as Spanish striker Joselu, who will be joining on loan from Espanyol Barcelona. However, Florentino Pérez has no intention of stopping there.

Real Madrid want Kane and Havertz

In recent days, two names have come to the fore for Madrid: Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Kai Havertz (Chelsea). The top scorer in the history of the English national team and Spurs is presented by Marca as the absolute priority to replace Karim Benzema.

Kai Havertz is also on the radar of Real Madrid, who would like to recruit both. This Sunday, German tabloid Bild reports that the Chelsea striker is very close to signing for the Spanish club. " A mega-agreement is in the offing - it could happen very quickly", the German media reports.

Chelsea open to Havertz departure

For his part, Fabrizio Romano confirms that Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid want Havertz, but the renowned Italian journalist points out that there has been no direct contact between the two clubs as yet. According to Romano, Chelsea are open to a move for their German striker, but will demand a lot of money.

In 2020, Real Madrid had already shown an interest in the 23-year-old, who was then playing for Bayer Leverkusen. Chelsea eventually snapped up the player for €80 million. According to the German version of Sky Sports, Chelsea are likely to ask between €50 and €60 million plus bonuses for Havertz.
