At a time when Barca is dreaming of a Leo Messi return and needs to replenish its coffers to achieve this, Catalan journalist Gerard Romero reveals that Newcastle has made a verbal offer of nearly €80 million to Barca for Raphinha.
La Liga aware of Newcastle's offer
According to this source, La Liga is aware of this verbal offer from Newcastle for Raphinha, since Barça would have included this offer (and this hypothetical cash inflow therefore) in its viability plan presented to La Liga. A plan that La Liga must validate for Barça to recruit this summer.

In other words, Barça seems to be betting on a big sale of its Brazilian international this summer and Newcastle could well be his destination. The Magpies are currently 3rd in the Premier League and in the running for a qualification for the next Champions League.
