Having reached the end of his contract on June 30, Marco Asensio has decided to leave Real Madrid this summer, according to Relevo.

Marco Asensio is set to play his final game for Real Madrid against Athletic Bilbao next week. According to Relevo, the 27-year-old left-footed attacking midfielder has decided not to extend his contract with the White House, who last month made him a new offer of an extension superior to the first one he had turned down a few months earlier.

According to Relevo, Marco Asensio's choice was primarily a sporting one. A luxury joker under Carlo Ancelotti, Asensio has rarely been used this season (just 18 times) and has not started a single one of the important late-season matches in the Champions League or the King's Cup. A clear signal for the player, who still managed to score 12 goals and provide 8 assists this season. In search of a new status, Asensio has decided to look elsewhere after seven years with Real Madrid, with whom he won everything.

Asensio to Aston Villa or Paris?

According to Marca, that elsewhere could be in England, where Aston Villa, coached by Spain's Unai Emery, are very interested in Marco Asensio, who will not be joining Barça according to Relevo. AS confirms that the elegant left-hander has a handsome offer from the Premier League, while Marca adds that several other clubs are interested.

According to Fabrizio Romano, his agent Jorge Mendes is already on the case, and several Premier League clubs have been made aware of Marco Asensio's choice, as have PSG, to whom the Spaniard had already been linked back in January, without it being clear whether it was Mendes who proposed him or PSG who made the first move.
