Having returned to AC Milan in January 2020, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be extending his contract, which expires on June 30. The Lombardy club paid him a fitting tribute this Sunday evening before their match against Hellas Verona.

The news leaked yesterday, but now it's confirmed: Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be leaving AC Milan this summer. The Swedish giant, who turns 42 in October, will not be extended beyond the current season.

Before his final match of the season against Hellas Verona, AC Milan and their fans paid tribute to him with a beautiful tifo from the Curva Sud, which read "God bye" (Zlatan has regularly compared himself to God, hence the pun).

An emotional Zlatan Ibrahimovic thanked his supporters, who were unable to take part in the evening's match due to physical problems. A key figure in Milan's Italian league title triumph last season, Ibra underwent knee surgery immediately afterwards and has played just 4 matches this season.

The Lombardy club Monza, owned by Silvio Berlusconi, would like to offer him a final challenge next season. This would allow Zlatan to prepare for Euro 2024 with Sweden. The last challenge of his immense career?
