On Monday, Borussia Dortmund announced the signing of Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaïni, who has joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Ramy Bensebaïni's move to Borussia Dortmund has now been completed. The former Montpellier and Rennes defender has committed himself to the BvB until June 2027, after four seasons with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Used mainly at left-back with Gladbach, the 28-year-old Algerian international scored 7 Bundesliga goals in 2022-2023 and replaces Raphaël Guerreiro at Dortmund, who has reached the end of his contract.

"Ramy is a player in his prime, with extensive national and international experience in the Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Champions League and Europa League, and he is an integral part of his home country's national team. We are convinced that his sporting development is not yet complete. In our talks with him, we saw an absolute determination to attack and win titles with Borussia Dortmund. We're delighted to be working with a professional who has a good balance between defensive and attacking play," said Sebastian Kehl, BvB sporting director.
