The contract extension of Marquinhos at PSG was finalized several weeks ago and was made official on Friday.

At PSG since 2013, Marquinhos extended his contract this Friday until June 2028, four years more than his previous commitment. With 405 matches on the clock, the 29-year-old Brazilian captain of PSG is the third most capped player in the history of the Parisian club behind Marco Verratti (413 matches) and Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 matches).

"This is a very special moment for me"

"I am very happy to announce this contract extension, but also very proud," Marquinhos said with delight on the PSG website. This is a very special moment for me. Paris Saint-Germain has always given me a lot of confidence, and I also have a lot of confidence in this club. I am convinced that we will continue to achieve great things together in the years to come."

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi also spoke on his club's website, "We are very happy that Marquinhos has extended with the Paris Saint-Germain family. I remember him when he joined the Club at the age of 19. From day one, he showed great dedication and a winning spirit, always fighting for the Paris Saint-Germain shirt. His talent, experience and commitment to the Club are exceptional. I am convinced that we will have many more successes together as Marquinhos' story continues with PSG."
