Official: Liverpool splash out €70m on Szoboszlai
Liverpool made the signing of Leipzig's Hungarian striker Dominik Szoboszlai (22) official on Sunday.
Courted by Newcastle and Liverpool, Dominik Szoboszlai leaves Leipzig for the Reds. The 22-year-old Hungarian striker, who is coming off a fine season with the German club (10 goals and 13 assists in 46 games played), has signed a five-year deal with the English club, running until June 2028.
Liverpool have paid their €70 million release clause, which was valid until last Friday. After paying it on Friday, the Reds completed the Hungarian's recruitment on Sunday. Szoboszlai is Liverpool's second recruit of the mercato, after Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
