Liverpool made official the signing of Argentinian world champion Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton on Thursday.

In search of three midfielders this summer, Liverpool have launched their mercato with the signing of Argentinian world champion Alexis Mac Allister (24), who was a regular starter at Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi.

Although the Reds have not revealed the details of the transfer, The Athletic is talking about a five-year contract, running until 2028. As for the transfer fee, The Times talks of £35 million, or around €40 million, the amount of Mac Allister's clause. Liverpool, on the other hand, have revealed the number of their new recruit: 10! A number that had been vacant since Sadio Mané left for Bayern Munich last year.

"It's a dream come true".

"It's an extraordinary feeling. It's a dream come true, it's great to be here and I can't wait to get started. I wanted to be here from day one of pre-season, so it's great to have everything wrapped up. I can't wait to meet my team-mates. I've had a fantastic year - the World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton - but now it's time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better human being every day," Mac Allister told his new club's website
