On Friday, OGC Nice confirmed the signing of promising Italian coach Francesco Farioli (34), who has been free since leaving Alanyaspor in February.

Nice have their new coach, and it's the young Italian Francesco Farioli (34), who has a fine reputation after his stints on the bench at Karagümrük and Alanyaspor in the Turkish D1.

A big fan of Marcelo Bielsa, Farioli has signed a two-year contract with Les Aiglons, taking over from Didier Digard, who has been given the reins of Nice's newly-formed elite squad.

"He's an extremely promising coach".

"Francesco is the unanimous choice and corresponds perfectly to the direction we want to take," said Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère on the OGCN website. He's an extremely promising coach, with many professional and human qualities, who has already made his mark through his previous experiences. We welcome him.

A former assistant to Roberto De Zerbi at Benevento and Sassuolo, Francesco Farioli is looking forward to starting his new mission next week: "Being the new coach of OGC Nice is an immense source of pride. I've known and followed the club's development for years. The structures are there, the people in place are competent and determined: all the conditions are in place for us to achieve great things together. To get there, we'll need hard work and humility", he confided.
