Tottenham have reached an agreement with Leicester City for the transfer of their English attacking midfielder James Maddison for around 46 million euros.

The English press is unanimous: Tottenham is on the verge of pulling off a coup in the transfer market by signing England international James Maddison (26), scorer of 10 goals and 9 assists in the Premier League this season with Leicester City, relegated to the second tier.

Tottenham and Leicester have agreed a deal worth 46 million euros plus bonuses, and Maddison is due to undergo a medical this Wednesday before signing his contract with the London club. The length of the contract has yet to be announced.

Having finished a disappointing 8th in the Premier League last season, the London club will also be signing Empoli's Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (26) in the next few days, but could lose their striker and captain Harry Kane (29), <a href=/news/mercato-harry-kane-agrees-with-bayern-munich>who has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich according to the German press.
