Mercato PSG: Nagelsmann expected in Paris within 24 hours

After confirming Christophe Galtier's departure on Tuesday, PSG will be meeting Julian Nagelsmann in Paris in the next few hours to convince him to succeed the French coach.

PSG are on the move! Marco Asensio and Manuel Ugarte passed their medical examinations in Paris on Monday, and have since signed up with PSG until 2027 and 2028 respectively. This information has been revealed by several French media outlets. According to Le Parisien, Luis Campos also informed <a href=/news/psg-confirm-they-are-parting-ways-with-christophe-galtier>Christophe Galtier on Tuesday morning that he would no longer be PSG coach next season. The decision was made by Doha last week.

PSG and Nagelsmann to continue talks

What happens next? According to L'Equipe, Julian Nagelsmann is expected in Paris between now and Wednesday to continue discussions with PSG management. Discussions which began several weeks ago. The former Bayern Munich coach is the favorite to succeed Galtier on the Parisian bench, and the idea is for him to come in with Thierry Henry as his deputy.

With regard to the latter, Le Parisien reported this morning that Thierry Henry had made no secret of his need to spend time in England, where his family lives, and his ambition to return to the number 1 position. According to L'Equipe, however, Paris is still considering a move, and Henry will soon be talking to Nagelsmann again. According to Foot Mercato, the former Arsenal striker is "keen" to join the German at PSG.
