Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday ahead of Saturday's German Cup final against RB Leipzig, Randal Kolo Muani responded to recent praise for Kylian Mbappé and discussed his future.

Alongside Victor Osimhen, Harry Kane and Dusan Vlahovic, Randal Kolo Muani is set to dominate the mercato this summer. The French international has enjoyed an exciting first season in Germany, finishing as the Bundesliga's third top scorer with 15 goals, just one behind Christopher Nkunku (Leipzig) and Niclas Füllkrug (Werder Bremen).

Mbappé a fan of Kolo Muani

Contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt until 2027, with no release clause, Kolo Muani has scored 23 goals in all competitions (plus 17 assists), and is logically turning the heads of several major European clubs, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG, where his national team-mate Kylian Mbappé is pushing for his signature, according to the German press.

During the French national team's last training camp in March, Mbappé was full of praise for the former Nantes man: "It's clear that he's a striker who offers our team other ways of playing. He's a technically complete striker who brings a lot of energy and has an impressive running volume."

"There may be another season in Frankfurt"

Asked about the praise at Wednesday's press conference, Kolo Muani said he was delighted: "It's always nice to receive compliments. Especially from a player like him. I really appreciated it," replied the 24-year-old striker, who went on to talk about his future, not closing the door on another year at Frankfurt.

"There could be another season. I still have a long contract here. As a result, there is of course an option for me to become the Bundesliga's top scorer for Eintracht Frankfurt," he confided. According to Bild, Frankfurt are asking 120 million euros for their French striker, and the trend remains for a transfer this summer. It remains to be seen where.
