Mercato OM: West Ham have made an offer for Nuno Tavares

26/05/23 14:52 by Fabien Borne

Nuno Tavares, who spent the season on loan at OM, is set to return to Arsenal this summer, and is also attracting interest from West Ham, according to the Portuguese press.

Where will Nuno Tavares be playing next season? Barring any surprises, not in Marseille. Despite a good first half of the season and some interesting statistics (6 goals in 37 matches), the 23-year-old Portuguese left-back has lost his place at OM in recent weeks and is hardly playing at all. His poor attitude in training was also singled out by Igor Tudor, who decided to leave him out of the latest trip to Lille, as did Dimitri Payet.

Logically, Nuno Tavares will leave OM this summer and return to Arsenal, where his contract runs until June 2025. But his future is not secure with the Gunners either, who are keen to sell him, two years after signing him from Benfica Lisbon for €8 million.

Arsenal demand at least €8m for Nuno Tavares

This Friday, Portuguese daily A Bola reveals that West Ham have made an offer to neighbors Arsenal for Nuno Tavares. The amount of the offer has not been revealed, but A Bola points out that Arsenal are keen to recoup at least their investment of two years ago.

It is not known at this stage whether Nuno Tavares is interested in joining the Hammers, runners-up in the Europa League Conference and 14th in the Premier League ahead of matchday 38.
