Paulo Fonseca has agreed to honor his contract with Lille, and will therefore not be Igor Tudor's successor on the OM bench.

Paulo Fonseca was being courted by OM to succeed Igor Tudor after the Marcelo Gallardo deal fell through. A destination that appealed to the Portuguese coach, who nevertheless decided not to force his departure from LOSC. On Sunday, Olivier Létang announced in a press release sent to several media outlets that his coach would honour the final year of his contract.

This Monday, La Provence confirms that Paulo Fonseca has agreed to stay at Lille after discussions with his management over the last few hours. Paulo Fonseca was indeed interested in the Marseille challenge, but OM refused to pay a severance package, so Fonseca finally came to terms with the idea of staying in the north of France.

Portuguese sports daily Record confirms that Paulo Fonseca has decided to stay at Lille after an exchange with his chairman. OM will therefore have to look elsewhere. The one leading to Marcelino (available) is well underway, but La Provence is also talking about another coach whose name has yet to filter through.
