Mercato OM: new coach's final decision imminent

13/06/23 09:14 by Fabien Borne

OM are hoping to finalize their search for a new coach this week. In particular, Marcelo Gallardo and Paulo Fonseca are on the club's radar.

The suspense is drawing to a close. While Pablo Longoria flew to the USA this weekend for his traditional end-of-season meeting with Frank McCourt and his entourage, Javier Ribalta (OM's director of soccer) remained in Marseille to make progress on the new coach.

Towards a Gallard-Fonseca duel

According to L'Equipe, Marseille hope to finalize the appointment of Igor Tudor's successor this week. To date, Marcelo Gallardo still seems to be the hottest prospect, although his alleged meeting with Pablo Longoria last weekend in Istanbul has been denied by several sources.

Paulo Fonseca, under contract at LOSC until 2024, also appeals to Marseille's management and remains a credible option, according to L'Equipe. La Provence, on the other hand, confirms and dismisses the possibility of Fabio Grosso, assuring us that he is not on the radar of Marseille's management.
