On the verge of acquiring midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who will add density to Marseille's midfield, OM then intends to recruit at least four players in specific positions, according to L'Equipe.

OM will start their summer preparations on Monday July 3, and on Friday evening they officially announced their new coach: Spaniard Marcelino Garcia Toral, who favors a flat 4-4-2 formation.

Marseille's first signing of the summer will soon be known, and should be midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia (30, Atlético Madrid), who is about to sign a three-year contract (with an additional year as an option). The transfer is valued at 7 million euros.

OM targets two full-backs and at least two strikers

What's next? According to L'Equipe, Pablo Longoria and Javier Ribalta want to recruit two full-backs (one right and one left) as a priority, as well as two forwards if Alexis Sanchez extends his contract. And if the Chilean leaves? It's safe to assume that OM will be looking to sign three strikers.

In other OM news, L'Equipe reported on Saturday that young central defender Isaak Touré (20) could be transferred this summer, having been bought last summer from Le Havre before a successful loan spell with Auxerre in the winter.

With Eric Bailly having returned to Manchester United at the end of his loan spell, logic would dictate that OM should also sign a central defender this summer. Moroccan international <a href=/news/mercato-om-longoria-wants-romain-saiss>Romain Saïss, who has just one year left on his contract at Besiktas, is being courted by OM, according to several corroborating sources.
