Porto's Nigerian left-back Zaidu Sanusi is of interest to OM, according to the Portuguese press.

And a new name for the OM mercato, who this Friday made official their first recruit of the summer in the person of <a href=/news/official-om-announce-geoffrey-kondogbia>Geoffrey Kondogia. According to Portuguese daily Record, OM have enquired about Zaidu Sanusi, a 26-year-old Nigerian left-back (11 caps) who has been with Porto for three years.

After scoring against OM in November 2020, Zaidu's contract was extended by Porto last October until 2027, before he suffered an injury a month later. Although he made 31 appearances for the Dragons this season, Sergio Conceição preferred Brazilian Wendell to him at the end of the season.

Zaidu has a €50m clause, but...

According to Record, OM have yet to make an offer to FC Porto, but this could happen soon as the Phocaean club no longer have Nuno Tavares, who has returned to Arsenal, and are set to lose <a href=/news/mercato-om-kolasinac-leaves-amavi-returns>Sead Kolasinac, en route to Atalanta Bergamo.

With a €50 million release clause, Zaidu is valued at €8 million on Transfermarkt. According to O Jogo, English clubs have also made enquiries, while Porto are already eyeing several full-backs to replace him, including former Manchester United player Alex Telles and Boavista's Bruno Onyemaechi.
