Mercato OM : Clauss sees himself staying this summer

Under contract at OM until June 2025, Jonathan Clauss announced on the airwaves of Europe 1 that he should stay in Marseille this summer.

Soon to be upgraded, but still under contract at OM until June 2025, Jonathan Clauss should not animate the next summer mercato. Guest ofEurope 1 Sport, the 30-year-old French international has announced his intention to stay in Marseille this summer. A decision shared by the Marseille board.

"There is no reason for me to leave"

"I don't want to leave this summer. I have discussed it with everyone. There is no reason for me to leave. Unless something extraordinary happens, I'll be here this summer," he let loose on French radio, while recurring rumors have linked him to Atletico Madrid since last winter.

In his first season at OM, Jonathan Clauss blew hot and cold, but still delivered 11 assists in 40 games played, for 2 goals scored. " There are the stats that speak for me, Clauss admits. I've progressed over my first three years in Ligue 1, so I'm obviously happy about that. After the World Cup, there was a complicated period. I had a downturn. Where I feel strong is that mentally, I managed to get back up."
