In addition to Leo Messi, Saudi Arabia dreams of signing Jose Mourinho, at the end of his contract at AS Roma in June 2024.

On March 29, Corriere dello Sport reported that Jose Mourinho had decided to stay at AS Roma and honor the last year of his contract, despite rumors that he was headed to PSG or Newcastle.

This Thursday, the Roman daily reveals that Jose Mourinho has received an XXL offer from Saudi Arabia to coach either the national team, in search of a successor to Herve Renard, who joined the Blues, or a club between the Al Nassr of Rudi Garcia and Cristiano Ronaldo, and Al Ahli, the current leader of the Saudi second division.

Saudi Arabia offers 120 M€ to Mourinho

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Saudi offer is €120 million for two years, or €60 million per year, which would make Mourinho the highest paid coach in the world. The Portuguese would even have the option to leave after one year or to extend his contract until the 2026 World Cup. This is bound to make the Special One think, and he has already sounded out his staff about a possible departure to the Gulf.

For the moment, the Portuguese coach would still intend to stay at Roma according to Corriere, but would like to know if his leaders intend to extend him or not. Depending also on how the season of Roma, currently 5th in Serie A and qualified for the quarterfinals of the Europa League, ends, Mourinho's thinking could change.
