13 years after leaving Osasuna for OM, César Azpilicueta is set to make his return to La Liga. Courted by Inter Milan this summer, Chelsea's versatile Spanish defender is finally set to sign for Atlético Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

With one year remaining on his contract with the Blues, the 33-year-old defender is set to be released free of charge, committing himself to the Colchoneros until June 2025. According to The Athletic, Azpilicueta is set to sign a one-year deal with Atlético, plus a second year as an option.
