Barça have completed the transfer of promising Brazilian striker Vitor Roque (18, Athletico Paranaense), according to Spanish daily AS.

Promising Brazilian striker Vitor Roque (18, 1 international) has been rumoured to be on Barça's radar for several months now, and is now much closer to Barcelona. According to Spanish daily AS, Barça's new technical secretary, Deco, has completed the transfer of the young centre-forward from Athletico Paranaense.

The striker will be Robert Lewandowski's understudy in the short term and his successor in the medium term. According to AS, Barça have reached agreement with the Brazilian club on a transfer worth 40 million euros, payable in three instalments, while Vitor Roque is set to sign for five seasons, until June 2028.

Barça must sell before signing Vitor Roque

AS points out, however, that the transfer can only be made official once Barça have sufficient wage room to sign their new recruit. To do this, Barça will have to part with at least three players, according to the Spanish daily.

With this arrival completed, Barça will now be able to concentrate on two other projects, that of a defensive midfielder to succeed Sergio Busquets, and that of an attacking midfielder.
